Washington And Its Allies Practiced Brilliant Spycraft By Creating ISIS As A Tool of Regime Change In Iraq And Syria

"That the U.S. used the ISIS phenomenon to again achieve regime change and U.S. control in Iraq was confirmed by Obama in an interview with Thomas Friedman:
The reason, the president added, “that we did not just start taking a bunch of airstrikes all across Iraq as soon as ISIL came in was because that would have taken the pressure off of [Prime Minister Nuri Kamal] al-Maliki. ...
The Islamic State is receding. It recently had to cut its wages by half. It is under continues bombing and has to fight ever bigger battles with ever higher losses. The population in the areas it holds is not happy. It will soon again revert to a guerrilla movement of underground terrorist cells. Then other interests of the various actors will again come to the fore, the U.S. will no longer be needed and again be dispelled from the theater. Then the U.S. will again wonder why it did not learn from the earlier lesson." - "Syria - Some Preliminary Positioning For An Endgame" by b, Moon of Alabama, January 20, 2016.
ISIS does not have a mind of its own. That was clear in the beginning, and it should be clear to everyone at this point, even to those who have not been paying any serious attention to the rise of this group.

If the members of this group who hail from all over the earth were ordered to kill their own mothers they would do so without blinking an eye. And one of them already has, so this is not mere speculation.

ISIS is a blind cult organized and directed by secret intelligence agencies. And like all cults the brainwashed members genuinely believe they are saving the world, and bringing paradise on earth.

But what they believe or don't believe is not important, it is their competence in military affairs that matters. And most of the fighters of ISIS are not properly trained, they rely on drugs to get them through battles, and they run away when the enemy takes the fight to them. So the idea that this global force of remote-controlled cowardly and brainless killers would someday conquer Damascus, let alone Jerusalem and Mecca as their fake leader has promised, is just flat out ridiculous.

They can't even hold the cities that were basically handed to them. The people who have been forced to live under them in Syria and Iraq have become increasingly fed up. And the majority of the people of the towns and villages that were invaded by ISIS left at the first opportunity to refugee camps nearby.

So they're not ruling over many people as it is. Add the fact that the only way they can retain control of conquered territory is if they massacre the local population and what you get is ghost towns, not any sort of Caliphate or state.

Killing the local populations may satisfy the genocidal bloodlust of these maniacs, but it is impractical since no group can govern a so-called state without the presence of somewhat happy people willing to pay taxes. It's governance 101. These ISIS idiots are like farmers who kill all the cows and chickens in one go, have a big feast, and still expect to get fed in the future.

Left to its own devices ISIS will destroy itself eventually. Destruction is in the group's DNA. The fire will extinguish itself, that is, if more fuel is not added to it, which is unlikely since this fire has served so many actors, for so many purposes, and on so many fronts.
